The Order of Brilliant Bloggers

See what you're playing for!

I decided that, since Pete mentioned these and they're so darn pretty...I'm going to steal the Order of Australia awards for us. Shhhhh....don't tell anyone I'm such a plagiarist! I wanted to draw some up, but L&M is keeping me chained to his computer.

So, tell me what you think of these....

Hiya motherdear :)

Great idea to errmm, base the medals on the Aussie Order of Australia ones. I think longer term though we should retouch them slightly (change the ribbon colours?) so that we don't get into any trouble. Would hate to go to war with Australia - especially since I live here :)

Yes, dears ltlfriend and Pete...I was intending on using them as temporary fixes until I can get free of the thumb of Mr. Wonderful, which I am not sure wouldn't last until the end of time... I still want to use something on the theme of a lightbulb.

Okay. Back to the drawing board. arrrggghhhhhh......

Well MD, I think you have something on the lightbulb idea. Like, a golden lightbulb.....that would be pretty cool.

And the winners could put the .jpg of the award next to their winning posts, which could serve as a link back to this site.

That sounds cool!!! I'll draw one. Wish I knew how to do all that stuff in computer drawing. Everything I try to draw comes out as modern art. :-D But I can draw something and scan it in.

If HTML were my forte, I'd come up with something, however, my computer skills deal in a different arena.

My paintings are all classified under modern art. Some people like them, others refrain from commenting. However, I have fun with it and that's what matters.

or you could have a gold plated toilet.....that's where a lot of bright ideas can turn up for many people. unlike this which probably wasn't one of my better ones.

Absoloutly brilliant idea except for the problem that Pete might win the awards every time. He sure if the most interesting blobber in our mob. Not that the others aren't as interesting.

Hi, Sherry!

I am very new at this, so I set it up so that I could get a definitive award for each category before too much time had elapsed. Since we roll from month to month, if we had half of the month for voting and all month for nominations, I was thinking there might be a rash of last-minute votes that might make it difficult for me to tabulate the votes properly. The last think I wish to do is to make a mistake. The posts and sites nominated are highly respected by those who nominated and voted, so I don't want to do something that could cheat someone out of a well-deserved nomination or a vote.

Did you see the page "The Envelope Please..."? The winners were listed there. I didn't have time to put links back to the page into David's comments for him (or for any of the other winners) because I needed to get the nomination pages posted. But please, if you have any suggestions, I'd be happy to hear them. I'm always looking to improve the site and have two wonderful technical experts who are helping me out!

Thanks again for writing, Sherry! Please come back often. Don't forget to nominate your favorite posts and sites for well-deserved attention from other excellent bloggers!!
